Dora’s Pirate Adventure

When I got home last Saturday from the outing MOM told me that my Daddy Nonoy [ my kumpareng Athans father ] gave us 5 tickets for the Dora’s Pirate Adventure show that staged at the Aliw Theater. Migs & Jolo were excited to watch it and to my surprise they still know all characters even they don’t watch it often. All the kids were so hyper seeing Dora, Boots the Monkey, Diego and the Map. We take home lots of freebies such tooth paste, ice cream pie and a lot of flags. After the show we went inside the Star City, I think, this is their first time. They enjoy the arcades and video games, rides, game booths, Dino Island and the Snow World. The kids were so tired and even fell into sleep while were traveling back to Q.C.

Back on my feet

Finally were done with the outing. Last Friday, was the most tiring. We left Manila around 12noon and headed to Star Mills in Pampanga to do some last minute grocery. We arrived in PORACAY around 3pm and just ate our lunch. Afterwards, we start preparing for the prizes and brain stormed for the program and game flow. Then had our dinner at 10pm and finished all the stuff at 3am. We took turns in taking catnap and were up again at 4am. But all the effort worth the praises and acknowledgements we received especially the Amazing Race and the Collect the Ball game. All had fun.

Tomorrow I’ll be taking a leave to take some more rest. I’m down with colds and just want to have more time with my kids. I owe them two days, since I’m out Friday and just came back last night.

I’ll be posting some pictures next time.

Move forward anyway

You may not get it right on the first attempt. Do it anyway, and you'll soon figure it out.

People are likely to come up with all sorts of reasons why it will never work. Work on it anyway, and commit yourself to handling each challenge as it comes.

Something unexpected will probably happen, in your life, in your industry, or in the world at large, that will cause many of your assumptions to be incorrect. Move forward anyway, because you are perfectly capable of adjusting to changing conditions.

It's possible that you won't get the results you expected. Learn from the results you do get, and with your newfound knowledge you'll discover ways to achieve even better results than you first expected.

There is no good reason to deny yourself the opportunity to accomplish whatever you choose to accomplish. Life is about making a difference, and you will never run out of ways to do that.

Whatever has happened, whatever they say, whatever the state of the weather or the economy may be, move forward anyway. Life is what you choose to make it.

In Time for AMI

Thanks Ms Mimi for sharing this.

Busted DIGICAM

Huhuhu!!! I learned after Jolo’s birthday that my digicam is busted. All my shots were little bit blurred and has lines. I though that maybe once uploaded it will be cleared. But after uploading it on my computer, it’s the same.

Hubby went to CANON service center last week and estimated the parts and labor will cost us between 4 to 5 K. Whatttt!!!! Expensive!!! So I think we need to get a new one but this time I’ll be getting a cyber shot. If when, that depends after we enrolled the two boys next week and if budget permits.

April 21, 2008

Corporate Center Unit of Digitel Mobile Phils., will hold it’s annual summer outing at PORACAY’s on April 26 and 27. We have it exclusive for two days. As usual I’m part of the summer outing committee. Arranging functions and others events are one of my hobbies. I just enjoy arranging things for others. This time I will be in-charge of stubs, program and games committee. Since we will have more than 400 participants I decided to make stubs despite that we already have a buffet set up for the food. This is just to give control of everything; I want to make sure that each employee will get their fair share of food, snacks and other freebies that will be giving away.

A series of meeting is being held regularly to update all the committee members. Each committee is holding their own pocket meetings to ensure that all to do’s are being materialized. So I think were off to PORACAY and take advantage to plunge in the pool, definitely we could not do this on Saturday, will be very busy by then.

Green Bucks

A lot of our relatives were here in time for summer. One of my Aunt is staying here for good. They will be spending their retirement here. And since last week I’m receiving a lot of dollars came from my Aunt’s and cousins. Yehey!!! This could add more for our forthcoming travel.

Post Party Kwento

This kwento is long overdue. It’s been a week, after the celebration and until now haven’t blog about this. I’m preoccupied with my responsibilities for the upcoming CCU outing which I will blog separately.

For the 6th birthday of Jolo we want it simple like what we did for Kuya Migs. Preparations were made two months ago.

Below are some of my supplier ratings

Invites – Toys “R” Us 8+++

Simple yet with a classy look, not like the ones you can buy in the bookstore, sobrang generic ang dating.

Venue – Kenny Rogers Roaster 6+++

The food was A ok. As always Spaghetti and Chicken should be included in the menu. Aside from that, my sister Cherry baked some goodies (choco revel and butterscotch) which we distribute during the entire party. I don’t like the host. We even pay X amount for the hosting but it turned out not as good as we have two years ago in the same Kenny outlet. My friends and other guest even commented that it’s better daw if I was the one who facilitate the entire party, siguro daw mas maganda.

Prizes – DV Mall, 168, Toys “R” Us and SM Toy Kingdom 10+++

We had three trips to DV and really worth the effort. We have acquired a lot of toys and small Sponge Bob items such as key chains, bubbles and handkerchiefs. We got party horns in Toys “R” Us, this was a hit. I also got some beach balls, goggles and other swimming gadgets from Toy Kingdom.

Loot Bags – 10+++

Another hit with the kids. I was able to find I nice loot bag (thicker than usual lootbag) at MEISIC. And I’m so happy to find some gum sea critters gummy, Sponge Bob box with candy, miniature Hershey’s sprinkle chocolates and a lot of soft candies.

Balloons – DIY

I just placed some balloons to add in the Sponge Bob theme. I use the yellow and green balloons that are excess from Migs party last December.

Cake – by RED Ribbon 10+++

My savior. For the second time I got a picture cake for Jolo. The same size and flavor as last year. They never fail me and even got my instructions right. Since it’s a different theme from last year I need to change some color combinations.

So that’s it . . . I need to start preparing for next year big bash. Jolo’s seventh year.

Treasure in the challenge

The difficulty of the journey gives meaning and value to the destination. The more effort you put into achievement, the more that achievement is worth.

The problems and challenges are not there to stop you. Their purpose is to bring your commitment to the surface where it can come wholly and powerfully to life.

The tasks that are the most difficult are the ones that make the greatest positive difference. Situations with the most formidable problems are where you find the biggest opportunities.

See the problems for what they are. They provide a clear, compelling path to strength of purpose, creativity, effectiveness, commitment and achievement.

Working your way purposefully and persistently through the challenges will create great and lasting value in your world. With each difficulty you grow stronger and more capable.

See the opportunities that the challenges provide. And make their considerable, substantial value your own.

Happy 6th Birthday Jolo

How time flies so fast. Jolo turns six today. And we have a party this afternoon at Kenny Rogers. Well, next year will be a tough one because it will be his seventh year. But nevertheless same preps will be made like Kuya Migs 7th birthday. That means hubby and I need to separate the budget in time for the next year bash.

Party preparations were made ahead of time. Read here, but until yesterday hubby and I still scouting for some prices in DV and in SM. We got some beach pails, goggles, beach balls and a lot of Sponge Bob items. Hay!!! Super pagod na pagod kami ni hubby. But we know that kids will be happy to see all of these prizes. Were so excited about the party and will let you know what happen next time

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOLO

Have a goal

When you're not headed in any particular direction, that's where you'll end up arriving -- nowhere. When you have no specific goal in mind, that's what you'll end up accomplishing -- not much.

Sometimes it can be truly helpful and enlightening to wander without a clear destination and to explore new territory. Yet if that's all you ever do, all that enlightenment will never be put to use.

When you give yourself a clear, specific goal, your actions take on the power of purpose. That can help to make you more creative, resourceful, persistent and effective.

Set a couple of goals for today, and you become far more likely to get those things done. Powerful forces, some of which you may not even realize or understand, are set in motion by your intentions.

Before you start to move forward, decide for yourself exactly what it means to move forward. Before you begin to take action, be sure you know the reason for that action.

You'll accomplish much more when you clearly know what you intend to accomplish. Get a goal, and you'll make it happen.

FILs Birthday

FILs Birthday Cake
From Migs & Jolo

MIL & FIL

Today is FILs birthday. I am very thankful having a loving and supportive FIL. Since we got married FIL is always there to guide us and support us in all our endeavors. That’s why we are throwing a small gathering for FIL. I cooked the food and some were ordered. We brought along with us the Magic Sing for the cousins to enjoy.

BIL from Arizona called around 2pm and greeted FIL. A teary eyed FIL was just listening in the other line. I know FIL misses BIL so much but we in the family know that BIL is doing this for his family and it’s worth the sacrifice.

We had our simple dinner at half past six and after that, everyone took turns in singing. We ended up around 10:30 coz we still need to go home in Q.C.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAPA!!!

How To Have A Great Marriage

Somebody forward this short story and its worthwhile sharing. Happy reading!

One day, a young husband came up to me and said, “Bo, I wish my marriage will be as great as yours ten years from now…”I only had one word for him: “Don’t wish. Decide.” In that one line, I gave my secret to success. That’s what separates great marriages and not-so-great marriages. That’s what separates successful people from unsuccessful people. Unsuccessful people wish, want, hope, desire for their dreams. That’s not enough. Successful people decide to make their dreams happen. Period. That means they’ll they’ll do whatever it takes. Nothing will stop them. Failure is not an option.

Let me ask you: Will you do whatever it takes? For me as a husband, it means…

o practicing “mental” monogamy

o overlooking her faults

o going out of my way to express my love

o prioritizing our dates

o leading my family to God

Note: Just in case you’re in the delusion that I’m a perfect husband, let me make this record straight. I’m far from it. Just ask my wife!

But the important thing is that I’ve decided to become a great husband. And I make that decision everyday. (I struggle towards this dream everyday!)

I’ve realized that this power of decision works in every other area in life…

What tomorrow will bring

Life is dynamic. And for that reason, the bad news is never as bad as it seems.

Whatever may happen, whatever condition may arise, you can adjust to it and make the most of it. Not only can you survive in the face of changing conditions, you can indeed prosper.

When you look at new developments through the lens of your existing assumptions, they can often appear overwhelmingly negative and hopeless. Yet when you start working your way through the new conditions, brilliant opportunities begin to appear at nearly every turn.

Circumstances are constantly changing, and even the changes are constantly changing. As you continue to adapt, and as those around you also adapt, positive new possibilities emerge and take root.

It's difficult to know precisely what tomorrow will bring. Yet you can know with confidence that whatever tomorrow does offer, there will be a way for you to make the most of it.

For the value and goodness of life never go away. They just continue to be presented to you in new and more fulfilling ways.

Early to bed, early to rise

Early today, as in early imagine the two boys got up the bed 5:15am for whatever reason I don’t know. Suddenly Migs asked me “ today is April what mommy ” me with sluggish answer “ Apppprill 4, yyyyy??? ” he replied “ It’s Tito Eugene’s Birthday, can I call him ” . Naman, the two boys woke up early just to greet Tito Eugene, how sweet. . . . .

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KUYA

WE LOVE YOU!

blow out!

Migs & Jolo

I didn’t have enough sleep.

Haaayyy!!! Well let me elaborate on that. Since Monday, I got hooked up with this two Prime Time Bida show in Kapamilya channel. First is the PBB teen edition. It’s so exciting and interesting knowing that included the teens guardians in a secret place within the PBB house. Second, new Korea Nobela LOVERS. For sure Ate Cherry will also be hooked up with this or she might again have advance copy and watched it on marathon, will ask and find out. So imagine before I go to sleep around 9pm but now extending it till 11:00pm so that’s make me sleep less.
