Renewal of Marriage Vow

I was lucky enough that I became friends with Dr. and Dra. Agoba, who happens to be the parents of Jules, classmate of my eldest son.

Sometime in December, Dra. Gi and I were discussing about family life and told her that this coming January, hubby and I will be celebrating our 10th year wedding anniversary and we were planning to renew our marriage vow. She told us that her charismatic community is actually conducting renewal of marriage vow every year come valentine’s day and there will be no problem if we would want to join. So, I told hubby about it way back December, and he said ok.

Yesterday was the big day, we renewed our marriage vow. It’s like the first time. We were all asked to march down going to the auditorium, with flower girls throwing petals in the aisle and serenade the whole place with background music [cannon in d] which happens to be my wedding march too. A consecrated mass was offered and after the homily we were asked to recite the renewal of our marriage vows. I broke down in tears, and whispered to hubby “when I say YES ten years ago, that’s forever.

The night became more special with friends around us who also renewed their vows, Jeff and Daisy, Dr. and Dra. Gi. But of course the event would not be complete without celebration. We eat our heart out at MR. KEBAB.

I am so thankful that we were given the chance to renew our vows, and having new found friends is more than a blessing.

Will post pix once I get it from Dra. Gi

V treat

Finally our date was set. Early this week, Marge, my cousin contacted me and asked me if we could go out lunch time on valentines day. This is the much awaited reunion after seeing each other last December 2007 during Migs 7th birthday. I’m so excited to see her and Michelle. Despite we grew up separately, we still text and even call each other every week.

Marge, thanks for everything. I LOVE YOU

Thumb rules for Global Financial Crisis

Just want to share. I got this from a friend. It's worth reading.

Subject:
Warren Buffet - Thumb rules

We begin this New Year with dampened enthusiasm and dented optimism.

Our happiness is diluted and our peace is threatened by the financial illness that has infected our families, organizations and nations.

Everyone is desperate to find a remedy that will cure their financial illness and help them recover their financial health.

They expect the financial experts to provide them with remedies, forgetting the fact that it is these experts who created this financial mess.

Every new year, I adopt a couple of old maxims as my beacons to guide my future. This self-prescribed therapy has ensured that with each passing year, I grow wiser and not older.

This year, I invite you to tap into the financial wisdom of our elders along with me, and become financially wiser.

Hard work: All hard work brings profit; but mere talk leads only to poverty.
Laziness: A sleeping lobster is carried away by the water current.
Earnings: Never depend on a single source of income.
Spending: If you buy things you don't need, you'll soon sell things you need.
Savings: Don't save what is left after spending; Spend what is left after saving.
Accounting: It's no use carrying an umbrella, if your shoes are leaking.
Auditing: Beware of little expenses; a small leak can sink a large ship.
Risk-taking: Never test the depth of the river with both feet.
Investment: Don't put all your eggs in one basket.

I'm certain that those who have already been practising these principles remain financially healthy. I'm equally confident that those who resolve to start practising these principles will quickly regain their financial health.

Let us become wiser and lead a happy, healthy, prosperous and peaceful life.
